Women in Engineering Geology (WEG) team for the ARC-15 of IAEG
The Women in Engineering Geology (WEG) team is highly active, and the upcoming ARC-15 of IAEG conference is set to be a landmark event with women as leaders, supporters and participants. The NSEG team and the IBNG team are continuously supporting the WEG initiative, fostering gender equity and inclusion in the geoscience community as per the vision of IAEG especially for this conference. Around 31 females holding key leadership positions are there actively contributing to organize and execute the ARC-15 OF IAEG from NSEG and IBNG team.

Dr. Manita Timilsina oversees planning, coordination, and execution of all aspects of the conference. She leads a 30-member female team tasked with managing logistics and contributing to the ARC-15 of IAEG newsletter and first circular. Dr. Timilsina plays a pivotal role in content development and communication for the ARC-15 of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG). Dr. Badal Pokharel is supporting the scientific associate team to shape the program including scientific sessions and speakers for the conference and prepare the standards for the submission and review of abstracts. Ms. Anjila Babu Malla contributes to professional development and capacity-building opportunities for women from NSEG on international platforms. She supports the promotion of the ARC-15 of IAEG and networking on national and international platforms. Secretariat Team
12 female members from NSEG are supporting Secretariat head and officials as secretariat team from their side. The secretariat team handles various aspects of management like overseeing logistics, working on development and management of websites, managing pre-registration forms, addressing attendees and sponsors, managing the social media accounts and maintaining clear communication with the team and channels for smooth participant enrollment. | |
Organizing Committee Members
3 female members from NSEG and 9 female members from IBNG are supporting as an organizing committee member. They are responsible for strategic planning, fund securing and program development along with marketing of the conference and recruiting the participants, approving the agenda, ensuring fairness and inclusivity for the successful execution of conference. | |

The 15th Asian Regional Conference (ARC-15) of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG) will take place from November 27–29, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu, Nepal. Stay informed by visiting our website for daily updates and key milestones leading up to the conference. Here are the important dates to remember: - 30 October 2024: Conference 1st circular and pre-registration open.
- 30 January 2025: Conference 2nd circular and registration open with Extended Abstract (two pages) submission and payment of early bird registration fee.
- 15 June 2025: Conference early bird registration fee payment deadline.
- 30 August 2025: Conference 3rd circular and submission of full paper for peer review. Final Extended Abstract (two pages) submission.
- 15 October 2025: Conference 4th circular.
- 15 November 2025: Conference final circular.
- 27 November 2025: Conference on-site registration and full payment of registration fee.
- 31 December 2025: Deadline of submission of Full Paper.
- 31 July 2026: Publication of Proceeding Volume as Vol. 3 (No. 1) of Asian Journal of Engineering Geology (ajeg.nseg.org.np).
- 31 December 2026: Publication of Proceeding Volume as Vol. 3 (No. 2) of Asian Journal of Engineering Geology.

Call for Session Proposals: 15th Asian Regional Conference of IAEG (ARC-15)
The Organizing Committee of the 15th Asian Regional Conference of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (ARC-15) is pleased to invite session proposals from professionals, researchers, and experts in engineering geology and related fields.
Conference Theme The theme of ARC-15 is: “Engineering Geology and Resilient Infrastructure Development in Asia.” This theme encompasses a broad spectrum of topics, including but not limited to: - Geohazards and Disaster Risk Reduction
